COHREP invites all your students as we prepare them to the culture and mentality that revolves around RESEARCH. The Student Learning Series entitled "Developing a Research Culture Among Future Tourism and Hospitality Leaders" is the first among the many planned out for the next few months. The premier one will be hosted by the Philippine Women's University in Manila on September 7, 2019 from 1:00-5:00PM. Experts resource speakers are invited to share their wisdom and knowledge on this field.
The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP), in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation’s Lingkod Kapamilya, started the first of series of training as part of the memorandum of agreement between the two organizations last August 16, 2019. The beneficiary of this collaboration was the People’s Organization of Lobo in the Province of Batangas. The training program, spearheaded by Ms. Noemi Cancio, Board of Adviser for COHREP; Ms. Rheal Dayrit of ABS-CBN and Dr. Francia Yvette Magpantay, COHREP National Auditor, along with 5 dedicated faculty members from the University of Batangas’ College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (UBCTHM), implemented culinary essentials and food service styles that could help grow and enhance the communities’ ecotourism projects. The training resulted to a well-delivered outputs such as Vegetable and Fish recipes and various desserts to an enthusiastic group of learners. There were sixteen participants from the Lobo community who were appreciative of the new learning they acquired through this partnership.
The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP) and ABS-CBN Foundation's Lingkod Kapamilya tied up to foster and strengthen community-based outreach and linkages. On a well-attended COHREP 1st General Membership Meeting (GMM) for this year, participants from all over the country witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the two organizations. The MOA signing was one of the highlights of the GMM that was held at the Angeles University Foundation last July 19, 2019. Through this partneship, the recipient communities of Lobo in the Province of Batangas will be trained in culinary and hospitality that can further help their ecotourism projects. COHREP and AFI will tackle further partneships that can contribute to uplifting lives and nation building.
